Statute overview

About this statute

Finansinspektionen must supervise compliance with the law and rules made under it. Sparbanks are also supervised by sparbanksinspektionen, and certain deposit banks and member credit institutions are supervised by their central institute. A company may use, in its firm name, a reference to the firm of a deposit bank if the bank is in the same group as the company or belongs to the deposit-bank association. An inlåningsbank may provide postal and administrative services in the stated cases; a credit institution must notify Finansinspektionen before certain agency outsourcing and must keep required supervision data available. Transfers of data related to a credit institution’s risk management and internal control to an outside company are governed by sections 36a and 36b. The section says that the law contains special rules on capital requirements for member credit institutions in a deposit banks’ association.
