Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the regulation implements Directive 2002/46/EC on the approximation of Member States’ laws on food supplements, including amendments. This section defines “kosttillskott” and “ämnen som kännetecknar kosttillskott.” Dietary supplements may contain only the vitamins and minerals listed in Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1170/2009, and only in the forms set out in Annex II. Ingredients used in food supplements must meet the purity criteria set in EU law; if there are no EU rules, generally accepted criteria set by international bodies apply. Dietary supplement packages must carry specific label statements, and supplement packaging, presentation, advertising, brochures, or other presentation must not make certain nutrition or disease-related claims.
