About this statute
This section sets the length of military service at 165, 255, or 347 days depending on training category, and says the duty to serve during peacetime ends at the end of the year the conscript turns 30. If a conscript’s training is interrupted for health reasons or other reasons beyond the conscript’s control, the service period may be shortened, but not without the conscript’s consent. An unarmed-service liable person normally serves 255 days, unless assigned to training that requires 347 days.
