Statute overview

About this statute

The Arts Promotion Centre is a government agency under the Ministry of Education and Culture, with regional offices, and it must also promote culture where that task is not assigned to another authority. Centret has several duties to promote art and culture, manage related bodies, and prepare budget proposals; each regional office must handle certain tasks in its area, and the centre may assign special nationwide tasks to regional offices. Konstrådet must make decisions and proposals about art commissions, funding allocation, development funds, and related expert tasks, and the ministry appoints its chair and members.
