Statute overview

About this statute

This provision divides municipalities into four groups. Housing allowance is calculated by taking account of basic deductible amounts for housing costs, and certain household income deductions apply for households with a minor child or more than eight members. This section sets household wealth thresholds in euros for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6+ persons referred to in the housing allowance law. Housing costs are calculated using capped heating and water amounts, plus a formula for certain owner-occupied homes and partial recognition of loan interest and fees. When housing benefit is calculated, maximum housing costs per square meter are set by municipality group, dwelling size, and the year the dwelling was completed or substantially repaired/improved.
