About this statute
Export guarantees may be granted for other countries on special industrial-policy or competitiveness grounds, even when the commercial risk is too high for normal risk assessment, but this requires a decision by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. When export guarantees are granted and their terms are set, the listed factors must be considered. Vid skyddsarrangemang får förbindelser enligt lagen bytas ut mot ansvarsförbindelser som inte gäller exportverksamhet enligt lagen. The total liability for export guarantees and protection arrangements may be at most EUR 12,500 million, with separate caps of EUR 2,500 million for export guarantees under section 6 and EUR 200 million for investment guarantees under section 5(2). Rules for handling and administering export guarantees at the company are governed by specified laws, and the company’s staff and management are subject to criminal service-liability rules when handling matters under this Act.
