Statute overview

About this statute

Ålderspension kan beviljas bara om arbetstagaren inte längre arbetar i det anställningsförhållande som pensioneringen gäller. A worker may be entitled to old-age pension under this law at the pension age set in the municipal or state pensions laws if the last job’s qualification was the required seafaring-related exam or a required amount of seafaring service, and the pension amount is recalculated accordingly. Old-age pension starts the month after the worker reaches pension age and ends the relevant work. Deferred old-age pension starts the month after the pension application. Other old-age pension can be granted retroactively, but normally not for more than three months before the application month unless there is a valid reason. A worker aged 61–67 who has switched to part-time work is entitled to part-time pension if part-time income is 35–70% of stabilized income. A worker may claim pension earned during disability-pension periods, including certain work done after disability pension ends, when the worker moves to old-age pension or deferred old-age pension.
