Statute overview

About this statute

This provision is a heading about the grounds for terminating an employment contract. An employee has a right to paid leave during the notice period for certain job-search and employment-related activities, unless the employer and employee agree otherwise. Employers must tell dismissed employees the reasons for the dismissal, the alternatives, and the employment services offered by the employment and economic office. In certain cases, a bankruptcy or deceased estate must instead inform employees of the reason for dismissal as soon as possible. If the conditions in section 4 apply, the employer must inform the employee about the employee’s right to an employment plan and a transition protection supplement.
