Statute overview

About this statute

A person who has received a student loan under this law is entitled, under the law’s conditions, to student loan compensation. This provision defines “other educational institutions” as educational institutions that are not those covered by point 4. The section says student aid may be granted for certain supervised education, some foreign studies, and some other Finnish education if the student-aid authority has granted that right. Study aid is not granted to a person who receives certain old-age pensions or is performing conscription, civil service, or voluntary military service for women, or equivalent foreign service. Student aid for higher studies is limited to 64 support months, with additional rules on how many months per school year can be counted.
