Statute overview

About this statute

The provision establishes Kolovesi National Park to protect and care for the archipelago nature in Saimen, the habitat of saimaannorppa, and forest and mountain nature in southern Finland, and to promote nature interest, outdoor recreation, and environmental research. Kolovesi nationalpark omfattar cirka 5 834 hektar statsägda områden i Enonkoski, Heinävesi och Nyslotts stad, och gränserna är utmärkta på kartan som bilaga till lagen. This section says that rules on prohibited activities in Kolovesi National Park are found in section 13 of the Nature Conservation Act, and exceptions are found in sections 14 and 15 of that Act. Residents of the municipalities named in section 2 may, with permission from the authority managing the area, hunt elk in Kolovesi National Park on the mapped areas. This section says the law takes effect on 1 January 2014 and repeals the law on Kolovesi National Park (167/1990).
