Statute overview
About this statute
Lantmäteriverket and the land register authority may decide name changes for cadastral villages and register units, usually on application and sometimes on their own initiative. The property register is kept by Lantmäteriverket, but on detailed plan areas it may be kept by a municipal cadastral engineer if the municipality chooses to take it on. State or municipality is liable for damages only if the incorrect register entry concerns certain listed property or cadastral matters. State or municipality compensation claims start when damages have been paid or a final court order requires payment; the state may waive all or part of the compensation if claiming it would be unreasonable.
