About this statute

Yrkeshögskolor may provide certain training and must issue certificates for completed studies; the Council of State may issue further rules on certificates, specialization training, agreements, and the public register. A person may be admitted to specialisation education if they have an appropriate higher education degree or if the university of applied sciences considers their knowledge and skills sufficient. The polytechnic admits students for degree studies or specialization training. A student may, if the polytechnic decides, count certain studies or other demonstrated knowledge toward a degree or specialisation and use them to replace required studies.
