Statute overview

About this statute

Certain listed entities may run fundraising campaigns for specified nonprofit purposes, and two exceptions allow fundraising for an individual/family in financial difficulty or for a preschool, class, or established study/hobby group. Some entities may be granted a fundraising permit, but the State, municipalities, and joint municipal authorities cannot be granted one. A fundraising permit may be granted for at most five years, if there is a justified reason connected to the applicant’s activities and the purpose of the collection. Polisstyrelsen grants permits for certain money collections. A permit for a fundraising to help an individual person or family must include a condition limiting the collection to the district of one police authority.
