Statute overview

About this statute

Certain Finnish citizens and persons referred to in subsection 2 may receive study support for studies abroad if they meet the residence or permanent-connection conditions. This provision defines “högskola” for the Act. The provision says which students can receive study aid and how study-progress monitoring can affect continuation or withdrawal of aid. Student aid is not granted to a person who participates in apprenticeship training arranged under the law on basic vocational education. The provision sets monthly study allowance amounts for students, with different sums based on where they live, their age, family status, and whether they study in higher education or another institution.
