Statute overview

About this statute

This chapter sets out the general conditions for receiving daily cash benefits. An insured person is entitled to sickness allowance based on earnings income if annual earnings income or estimated annual earnings income reaches at least 1,264 euro. When calculating the maximum sickness allowance period, certain days with no sickness allowance payment must still be counted. Certain rehabilitation, unemployment, study, and related benefit periods are counted together with the working-capacity time used for sickness allowance after the maximum period. The provision sets percentage-based amounts for sickness allowance, parental allowance, special care allowance, and maternity allowance based on insured annual earnings, with income thresholds and indexation rules.
