Statute overview

About this statute

Authorities may use security measures against a foreigner when needed for entry/stay checks or to carry out or supervise removal from the country. A foreigner may be required to report regularly to the police, border authority, or a reception centre; if a person at a reception centre fails to report, the centre must immediately notify the issuing authority. A foreigner may be required to hand over a travel document and ticket to the police or border control authority, or to tell them where they can be found. An authority may require a foreigner to provide security to the state for costs of stay and return. A foreign national may be placed in detention only if the listed conditions are met and an individual assessment is made.
