Statute overview

About this statute

The local police district handles overload-fee cases, and the police district chief or an authorized commanding officer makes the payment order decision. In individual cases, the fee need not be imposed, or it may be lifted, if the overload transport resulted from excusable inadvertence or a comparable special reason. If a traffic supervisor finds an overload that may lead to an overload fee, the supervisor must immediately make a written report to the police station and give the driver a copy. Decisions imposing the overloading fee may be appealed to the administrative court, and further appeal requires leave to appeal from the Supreme Administrative Court.
