About this statute
Extra artist pension may be granted to artists who live or have lived permanently in Finland, and normally it should not be granted to someone under 60 unless there is a special reason. Extra konstnärspension can be granted as full pension, partial pension, or not at all, depending on the applicant’s taxable pension income and other fixed income, excluding folkpension. Extra konstnärspension is 1,328.69 euro per month, and partial pension is half of full pension. The Centre for Arts Promotion grants extra artist pensions, after requesting an opinion from a state art commission; Keva pays the pension. Centret för konstfrämjande may stop pension payments and recover paid pension if the applicant gave false or misleading information that materially affected the pension. It may also waive recovery of part of the pension if full recovery would be unreasonable because of the pensioner’s financial situation.
