Statute overview

About this statute

This provision defines “international protection” as refugee status or alternative protection status. Electronic communication is governed by Act 13/2003. An application may continue only if the processing fee has been paid; otherwise it lapses after a reasonable time if unpaid. A residence permit normally requires the foreigner to have a valid travel document, but there is an exception for permits granted under certain listed sections. If a residence permit is granted on refugee status or alternative protection grounds, the four-year period is counted from the date of entry.
