About this statute
Smoking-room structures must be tight, the distance from the ceiling to the top of the door must be at least 400 mm, and the entrance must be built so tobacco smoke does not spread outside the smoking room. Smoking rooms must have negative pressure, receive air from adjacent rooms through a door or transfer device, and exhaust air that meets minimum flow requirements and is vented above the building’s roof through a separate duct. Smoking rooms must have fixed measuring equipment for checking exhaust airflow from outside, and their ventilation must be checked regularly with observations recorded. A smoking room in a catering business must have an area of at least 7 square meters. This provision says the regulation enters into force on 15 August 2016 and gives two exceptions for how section 2(3) applies to certain buildings.
