Statute overview

About this statute

This section says the law applies to use of fixed fines as punishment for certain offences, unless a stricter penalty is provided elsewhere in law. A pedestrian may be fined 20 euros for intentionally or negligently breaking the listed traffic rules. Cyclists, other drivers of non-motorized vehicles, and certain mobility-aid users can be fined 40 euro for the specified traffic-rule breaches or for moving a mobility aid faster than walking pace. A motor vehicle driver who intentionally or negligently fails to carry required documents may be fined 40 euro. Certain vehicle-related violations trigger a fixed fine: 70 euro for drivers, owners, or permanent holders of motor vehicles, and 40 euro for moped riders, owners, or permanent holders of mopeds.
