Statute overview

About this statute

Certain customs crime-enforcement staff must carry an official badge when on duty, and the badge must show their title and any arrest-authorized status. The person who proposed or decided on a secret information-gathering method, or an appointed pre-trial investigator, must make a record without undue delay and no later than 90 days after use ends. Technical observation covered by the cited Tullen provisions must also be recorded. A teleinterception log must record specified details about the authorisation, timing, actions taken, personnel involved, destruction or storage of materials, and whether notice was given, postponed, or omitted.
