Statute overview

About this statute

This section sets conditions for certain housing support: applicants must be at least 18, some support is limited by age, no business plan is needed for the specified support, and support can be refused if recovery decisions are ignored or the recipient is a company in difficulty. Co-owners may be granted a benefit together if at least one co-owner meets the statutory conditions and owns at least one-third of the property or area. The benefit may also be granted to just one co-owner if all co-owners consent; for certain state-funded road or water and sewer works, that consent must also cover pledging the property as security. Investment loans and state guarantees may be granted for certain small-business expansion projects only if the project materially increases jobs, output value, or services, and in one case only to the extent of that increase. Housing loans and housing allowances may also be granted to other persons than those who carry on business. Housing loans and housing grants may be used only for dwellings that are suitable and reasonably priced, with added attention to good environmental quality; the provision also sets maximum supported floor areas for several building types.
