Statute overview

About this statute

This is a chapter heading for general provisions. Förordningen gäller inte för icke-joniserande strålning. In radiation activities, justification and radiation protection optimization must take account of occupational, public, and medical exposure; some exposures are excluded for individual medical exposure assessments, and emergency and waste-related exposure must also be considered in specified cases. When weighing the combined benefits, the health benefits for the exposed individual and for society must be considered, along with radiation exposure and related harm to health, the environment, property, and society’s functions. Medical exposure caused by an examination, measure, or treatment must be assessed in advance and individually.
