Statute overview

About this statute

A student at a non-university institution is entitled to study aid during the regular study time, which can also extend up to 12 months after that period. Study allowance may be granted to certain students, but not if the student’s maintenance is covered by child benefit or a similar foreign benefit, except for the learning material supplement. The section sets monthly study grant amounts, age- and living-arrangement-based levels, income-based increases, and a book material supplement for qualifying students. State loan guarantee is available for certain students, but not for students living with a parent in specified cases or some others; a student loan borrower may also be entitled to loan compensation if listed conditions are met. A student is entitled to study allowance and housing supplement if the parents’ combined taxable earned and capital income is at most 43,000 euro per year.
