About this statute

Chapter on elected officials and elections. The church council or parish council must appoint an election committee with a chair, at least four other members, and at least as many deputy members. The voter list must record specified voter details, may be used only for elections with limited exceptions, and the Church Board must destroy the electronic voter register after the parish election result becomes final. Parish members and listed persons have access rights to the voter register, but it is otherwise confidential, with limits on copying and a special exception for checking voting rights.
