Statute overview

About this statute

Jägare ska anmäla vissa fällda djur till Finlands viltcentral inom sju dygn och lämna vissa uppgifter i anmälan. An applicant for a moose/deer hunting license must attach specified area documents to the application, and in some cases also provide preliminary information about hunters and their residences. The Finnish Wildlife Agency may also require the applicant to explain the hunting right for the area. A deer hunting license allows taking one adult deer or two calves, and the Finnish Wildlife Centre may decide how licenses are distributed regionally within a license area. This provision assigns the hunting leader several duties, requires written notice to the hunting association before hunting starts in some cases, and requires a leader or deputy to be present during group hunting unless it is guard hunting. This section sets closed seasons for many wild animals and birds, and limits when some species may be hunted in certain places and ways.
