Statute overview

About this statute

Several named authorities and service providers must help with maritime rescue tasks, often without compensation, when the section’s conditions are met. The Border Guard may receive certain needed rescue-planning and operational data, share data with vessel traffic and air traffic service providers, and use its own information system data in critical situations. Gränsbevakningsväsendet and Transport- och kommunikationsverket have specific responsibilities for maritime safety radio communications, warnings, and emergency radio traffic.
