Statute overview
About this statute
The law sets its purpose and scope for postal services and universal postal services, and it excludes several kinds of services from its application. The Ministry of Transport and Communications is responsible for general steering and development of postal services, and the Transport and Communications Agency supervises compliance and publishes an annual report. The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency may order a postal company or similar association to correct a breach, and it may back that order with a fine, a threat to suspend operations, or enforcement at the negligent party’s expense.
