Statute overview

About this statute

Minst five enfranchised Finnish citizens may start a citizen initiative, and the initiators must provide their contact information to the Population Register Centre, the Ministry of Justice, and Parliament for initiative-related communication. The initiative’s responsible person must submit the support declarations to the Population Register Centre within one year after collection ends. The Ministry of Justice must, on request, forward declarations collected through the web service. The Population Register Centre checks them and determines whether the minimum required number is met.
