Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the law provides temporary epidemic compensation for people and families who are worst off economically because of costs caused by COVID-19 restriction measures. Personer och familjer som hade rätt till grundläggande utkomststöd under angivna perioder har rätt till stöd, med särskilda regler för Åland och för stöd för september. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is responsible for the general steering and management of the support activities under this law, and Kela is responsible for implementing the law. Folkpensionsanstalten investigates entitlement to support and grants it without a special application. Support is granted for one month at a time, and support for residents of Åland is granted after the necessary information is received from Åland. The support amount is 75 euro per month per person, and it is paid to the account the recipient has provided. September 2020 support is paid together with October support; during October to December 2020 it is paid on the 16th of each month, or by the next month’s normal payment day if the payment cannot be made on the usual day.
