Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the law provides temporary electricity support for low-income households permanently resident in Finland when home electricity costs are unreasonable because electricity prices have risen. Ett hushåll kan ha rätt till elstöd för vissa elenergikostnader för en bostad i Finland om villkoren i bestämmelsen är uppfyllda. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is responsible for the general steering and management of the support activity under this Act, and the Social Insurance Institution is responsible for implementing it. Applications for electricity support are made to the Social Insurance Institution, which also sets the procedures and forms and decides on support based on the application and attached electricity invoice. Electricity support is calculated as 60% of eligible electricity costs above a 400 euro monthly deductible, with eligible costs capped at 1,500 euro per month.
