Statute overview

About this statute

The provision defines “uttagspunkt” as a well, spring, or surface-water location where water is taken for household water or for producing household water. Several authorities must cooperate on water-supply risk management data, and the Finnish Environment Institute must produce required datasets and technical information services. Vattentjänstverk must monitor raw-water risks, inspect its facilities and leakage, convert network-location data to electronic form, send certain monitoring results to the environmental information system, and notify specified authorities about exceptional changes in raw-water parameters. Water utilities and their customers must exchange needed information on request, and water utilities must provide regular information about water quality, prices, and treatment levels.
