Statute overview

About this statute

A person proposed for certain appointments must submit a pre-appointment disclosure of business, ownership, assets, debts, outside duties, trust roles, administrative roles, and side jobs; side-job income must also be reported when a permit is required. The parties may agree on suspension during an employment relationship, and a cooling-off period may be agreed for up to 6 months after employment ends, or up to 12 months in certain cases. During the cooling-off period, compensation equal to salary must be paid, and an agreement may include a penalty clause capped at twice that compensation. If no rectification claim is made in time, the right to the benefit is forfeited.
