Statute overview

About this statute

Chapter 1: General provisions. This provision says the working order regulates how matters are processed and how work is organized in the Supreme Court, in addition to what is set out in the Act on the Supreme Court or other law. The president runs the Supreme Court’s operations, and the chancellor secretary must ensure they run properly. The Supreme Court sits in plenary on the President’s summons to decide administrative and judicial matters; the President chairs it, the oldest member chairs if the President is absent or disqualified, a fixed-term member does not take part in certain plenary matters, and the office director acts as rapporteur in administrative matters unless the President appoints another official. Judicial matters must be handled and decided without delay, and urgent cases must be treated urgently.
