If a child has two mothers under the parenthood law, the rules about the mother in section 9(1)(1) apply to the birth mother, and the rules about the father and paternity in section 9(1)(2)(b) and 9(1)(3)(b) apply to the mother and the establishment of maternity.

About this statute
If a child has two mothers under the parenthood law, the rules about the mother in section 9(1)(1) apply to the birth mother, and the rules about the father and paternity in section 9(1)(2)(b) and 9(1)(3)(b) apply to the mother and the establishment of maternity. A foreign person may acquire Finnish citizenship by notification if the person’s father or mother was a Finnish citizen at the time of birth and the other stated conditions are met. Om vissa faderskaps- eller moderskapsbeslut upphävs inom vissa tidsfrister kan barnet beslutas förlora sitt finska medborgarskap.
