Statute overview

About this statute

This provision says the regulation applies to healthcare units and healthcare professionals when they prepare and store documents and other material used to organize and carry out patient care. This section defines what counts as journal documents and says archived electronic journal documents must form one unified set based on service events; if documents are removed from a service event, a note must remain in the archive. Journal records must be created and kept using methods that protect the integrity and usability of the information during storage.
