About this statute
This section says the law applies to the management and use of forest on forest land, but not to areas designated as protected areas in a land-use plan. If a Building Act environmental permit imposes forestry restrictions that would prevent reforestation duties from being met, the duty is still treated as complied with. The duty also ends if no sapling stand emerges despite reasonable measures. Finlands skogscentral must cooperate with municipalities, when dealing with areas to be planned or already planned, to coordinate the aims of this law with the land-use law.
