Repeal of Unnecessary Laws Act (Northern Ireland) 1953 An Act to repeal certain enactments and to make provision for certain matters arising out of such repeal. S. 1, with Schedule, effects repeals with savings Where, if this Act had not repealed the provisions of the Lands Clauses Consolidation Act, 1845, set out in Part II of the Schedule to this Act the amount of any compensation payable in respect of the compulsory acquisition of any lands would fall to be determined under those provisions, that amount shall be determined as if it were a question of disputed compensation to which the Land Compensation (Northern Ireland) Order 1982, applies and any costs incurred in connection therewith shall be dealt with in accordance with Article 5 of that Order. This Act may be cited as the Repeal of Unnecessary Laws Act (Northern Ireland), 1953. Schedule—Repeals The Act repealed ss. 21‐62, in s. 63 the words justices and or surveyors, as the case may be, and ss. 64‐68 of 1845 c. 18 1982 NI 9
