About this statute

This Ordinance requires suppliers of prescribed energy-using products to use the correct energy labels and reference numbers, and lets the Director enforce compliance. This provision lets the Director approve, revise, withdraw, and exempt codes or products, and lets the Secretary make regulations and amend schedules. It also sets appeal-board powers, notice rules, a due-diligence defence process, a prosecution time limit, and a fine for failing to comply with certain orders without reasonable excuse. This provision sets energy-label display and formatting rules for several appliance types, and lets the Director approve some alternative attachment methods.
