This Order sets maximum ferry fares for the listed routes and services, and limits the Commissioner’s permitted fare increase rate to 50%.
Ferry Services (Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry Company, Limited) (Determination of Fares) Order(Cap. 104, section 19(1)) [15 June 1982](Format changes—E.R. 3 of 2021) 1. Citation This Order may be cited as the Ferry Services (Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry Company, Limited) (Determination of Fares) Order. (E.R. 3 of 2021) 2. Determination of fares The maximum fares that the grantee shall charge for the routes specified in the Schedule shall, for the services specified in relation to those routes, be the amount specified in the Schedule. 3. Interpretation In the Schedule—afternoon (下午) means the period from 12 noon to midnight in any day; (L.N. 312 of 1994) articulated vehicle (掛接車輛) and rigid vehicle (整體式車輛) have the same meanings as they have in the Road Traffic (Construction and Maintenance of Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374 sub. leg. A); (L.N. 314 of 1984; E.R. 3 of 2021) bus (巴士), goods vehicle (貨車), light bus (小型巴士), motor cycle (電單車), permitted gross vehicle weight (許可車輛總重), private car (私家車) and taxi (的士) have the same meanings as they have in the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374); (L.N. 314 of 1984) child (兒童) means a person under 12 years of age; handicapped (弱能人士) means a person who—(a) has attained the age of 12 years; (b) is entitled to receive from the Social Welfare Department of the Government a disability allowance on the ground of that person’s severe physical or mental disablement as certified by the Director of Health of the Department of Health of the Government or the Hospital Authority within the meaning of the Hospital Authority Ordinance (Cap. 113); and (L.N. 76 of 1989; 68 of 1990 s. 24) (c) is the holder of a valid handicapped person’s travel card issued by the Hongkong and Yaumati Ferry Company, Limited to that person upon it being satisfied that he is a person referred to in subparagraphs (a) and (b). Determination of rate of increase of fares The maximum rate of increase that may be permitted by the Commissioner under section 19(3) of the Ordinance within the Schedule of maximum fares determined under section 19(1)(a) of the Ordinance shall be 50%.
