About this statute

This Part sets out how railway schemes are prepared, published, objected to, authorized, carried out, and how land, rights, and compensation are handled. The Secretary must acknowledge claims, decide them within 6 months, and may ask for more particulars. The Lands Tribunal can hear disputed claims, manage costs, and order particulars or interest. Mortgagees may be paid from compensation, and the Secretary can require title documents before payment.
