Telecommunications (China Light and Power Company Limited) (Exemption from Licensing) Order(Cap. 106, section 39) [19 July 1985](Format changes—E.R. 2 of 2012) 1. Citation This order may be cited as the Telecommunications (China Light and Power Company Limited) (Exemption from Licensing) Order. (36 of 2000 s. 28) 2. Interpretation In this order, unless the context otherwise requires—company (公司) means the China Light and Power Company Limited. 3. Exemption The company, subject to the conditions specified in paragraph 4, to the extent that it establishes, uses and maintains a means of telecommunications for the provision of circuits connected by wire or any material substance for the purposes of control, protection and communication as part of or closely associated with overhead or underground electricity power cables between the control centres of the Hong Kong and Shenzhen power supply systems, are exempted from the obligation to hold a licence under section 8(1) of the Ordinance. (36 of 2000 s. 28) 4. Conditions The company shall—(a) establish and maintain the circuits referred to in paragraph 3 to the satisfaction of the Authority; and (b) not connect the circuits directly or indirectly to any public telecommunications network.
