About this statute

This Ordinance sets up a regime for protecting Hong Kong critical infrastructure computer systems and regulating CI operators and regulating authorities. Authorized officers can require CI operators and other organizations to produce information and assist investigations, and magistrates can issue warrants for entry and seizure. Non-compliance and secrecy breaches are offences, with fines and imprisonment set out in the provision. The Secretary for Security can issue directions, make regulations, and amend Schedules; the appeal rules also set appointment, hearing, notice, and appeal-deadline requirements.
