About this statute

This provision applies the anti-corruption convention between Hong Kong and the listed places, and the convention requires States Parties to adopt anti-corruption, anti-bribery, money-laundering, confiscation, and witness-protection measures. States Parties must create anti-corruption enforcement capacity, support victims’ compensation claims, cooperate in criminal matters, and use measures that overcome bank-secrecy barriers in domestic corruption investigations. States Parties must share implementing laws with the UN Secretary-General, take measures to implement the Convention, and cooperate on recovering proceeds of offences; the Secretary-General must convene the States Parties conference within one year after entry into force.
