I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (5) of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (Commencement) Order 2024. 2. The 1st day of November 2024 is appointed as the day on which Part 7, insofar as it is not already in operation, of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022) shall come into operation. EXPLANATORY NOTE This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation. In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 1 (5) of the Electoral Reform Act 2022 (No. 30 of 2022), this Order appoints 1 November 2024 as the day on which the provisions of sections 182, 183, 187, 189, 192, 193 and the remaining part of section 1 99 in Part 7 of that Act come into operation.
