LOCAL GOVERNMENT (PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT) ACT, 1983, (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1983. The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 26 (3) of the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 , (No. 28 of 1983), hereby orders as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 , (Commencement) Order, 1983. 2. In this Order— "the Act of 1983" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1983 "the Act of 1976" means the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1976 (No. 20 of 1976). 3. On the 7th day of October, 1983— ) sections 1, 2, 5 (except subsections (11), (12), (13), (14) and (15)), 7 (except subsections (8), (9), (10), (11) and (12)), 9, 24 and 26 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation; and ) section 25 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation for the purpose of effecting the repeal of articles 1, 25, 26, 27 and 28 of the Schedule to the Act of 1976. 4. On the 25th day of October, 1983— ) sections 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation; and ) section 25 of the Act of 1983 shall come into operation for the purpose of effecting the repeal of sections 16, 18 (1) and 18 (2) of the Act of 1976.
