This Scheme increases telex charges, sets new subscription rates, and starts on 1 April 1985.
S.I. No. 80/1985 - Telex (Amendment) Scheme 1985. S.I. No. 80 of 1985. TELEX (AMENDMENT) SCHEME 1985. BORD TELECOM ÃIREANN, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 90 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), hereby makes the following Scheme: 1. (1) This Scheme may be cited as the Telex (Amendment) Scheme, 1985. (2) The Telex Schemes, 1980 to 1984, and this Scheme may be cited together as the Telex Schemes 1980 to 1985. 2. This Scheme shall come into operation on the 1st day of April 1985. 3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Scheme. 4. The Minister for Communications pursuant to Section 90 (2) of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 has concurred in the increase of charges effected by this Scheme. 5. The Telex Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 197 of 1980 ) are hereby amended by: ) the deletion in Regulations 5 (1) of the words from "to an installation" to "the Channel Islands" and for the words "in the Schedule" there shall be substituted "in Parts I and II of the Schedule": ) the addition of the following paragraph to Regulation 9: "(5) The subscriber shall pay on demand to Bord Telecom Ãireann for the use of the installation the subscription specified in Part V of the Schedule to these Regulations as appropriate to the type of installation." ) the substitution of the following Schedule for the Schedule thereto (inserted by paragraph 4 ( ) of the Telex (Amendment) Scheme 1984 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1984 )). PART ICHARGES FOR SUBSCRIBER KEYED CALLS The charge for a subscriber keyed call shall be the sum of 21p in respect of each period or part of a period of time specified in the Table to this part of this Schedule which is appropriate to the call and during which the call continues, except in the case of 7 below where subscriber keyed calls are charged for on a per minute basis. Description of Call Chargeper minute 1. A call between two installations in the State. 3 minutes 2. Any other call to an installation in NorthernIreland. 90 seconds 3. A call to an installation in Great Britain, theIsle of Man or the Channel Islands. 45 seconds 4. A call to an installation in Andorra, Belgium,Denmark, France, Germany (FederalRepublic), Greece, Luxembourg, Italy,Monaco, Netherlands, Switzerland,(including Liechtenstein) or the Vatican City. 42 seconds 5. A call to an installation in Algeria, Austria, Azores, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechoslovakia,Egypt, Faroe Islands, Finland, Germany(Democratic Republic), Gibraltar, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Madeira, Malta, Morocco, Norway, Poland, Portugal,Roumania, Spain (including Balearic and Canary Islands), Sweden, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, U.S.S.R., or Yugoslavia. 25.2 seconds 6. A call to an installation in Canada or USA(excluding Alaska and Hawaii). 12.6 seconds 7. A call to an installation in all other countries. 160 PART IICHARGES FOR CALLS OTHER THAN SUBSCRIBER KEYED CALLS Description of Call 1. A call between two installations in the State. 21.0p for each three minutes or part of three minutes. For the first three minutes or part of three minutes. For each minute or part of a minute after the first three minutes. 2. A call to an installation in Northern Ireland. 42 14 3. A call to an installation in Great Britain, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. 84 28 4. A call to an installation in Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany (Federal Republic), Greece, Luxembourg, Italy, Monaco, Netherlands, Switzerland (including Liechtenstein) or the Vatican City. 90 30 5. A call to an installation in Algeria, Austria, Azores, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, Faroe Island, Finland, Germany (Democratic Republic), Gibraltar, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Lebanon, Libya, Madeira, Malta, Morocco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Roumania, Spain (including Balearic and Canary Islands), Sweden, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, U.S.S.R., or Yugoslavia. 150 50 6. A call to an installation in Canada or U.S.A. (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). 300 100 7. A call to an installation in all other countries. 480 160 PART III 1. Fee for every call make from a call office in addition to the normal sum payable for such call: 2. Charge payable in respect of restoration of service after suspension or disconnection under the terms of Regulation 29: PART IV Charge referred to in Regulation 9 (4): PART V Subscriptions referred to in Regulation 9 (5) 1. Basic key send/receive installation. 2. Automatic send/receive (Electromechanical) installation. 3. Automatic send/receive (Electronic) installation. 4. Electronic send/receive installation. 5. Paper tape unit for use with installation type 4. 6. Data telex interface unit for use with installation types (1) to (4). GIVEN under the Common Seal of Bord Telecom Ãireann this 27th Day of March 1985. ELIZABETH HOLDEN, ITA MEEHAN, EXPLANATORY NOTE. The main purpose of this Scheme is to provide for an increase of 15 per cent in the charges for domestic and cross channel calls and to include revised rental charges involving a reduction in the previous maximum and an increase in the previous minimum rate to arrive at a single nationwide charge for each type of installation.
