PROTECTION OF EMPLOYEES (EMPLOYERS' INSOLVENCY) (SPECIFICATION OF DATE) REGULATIONS, 1985. I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the power conferred on me by section 4 (3) of the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984 (No. 21 of 1984), hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) (Specification of Date) Regulations, 1985. 2. In the case of an employer who is a company within the meaning of the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984 , by virtue of being a body corporate under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1893, and which, by virtue of section 1 (3) ( ) of the said Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984 , has become insolvent as a result of the appointment of a receiver or manager of its undertaking by or on behalf of the holders of debentures secured by a floating charge, but not being a company within the meaning of section 2 of the Companies Act, 1963 , the day on which the receiver or manager was appointed is hereby specified as the day on which that employer is to be regarded as having become insolvent for the purposes of the said Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984 GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 11th day of July, 1985. The purpose of these Regulations is to specify the day on which a body corporate under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1893 is to be regarded as having become insolvent for the purposes of the Protection of Employees (Employers' Insolvency) Act, 1984 , as being the day on which a receiver or manager was appointed.
