S.I. No. 26/1986 - Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1986. S.I. No. 26 of 1986. REGISTRATION COUNCIL (CONSTITUTION AND PROCEDURE) (AMENDMENT) RULES, 1986. I, GEMMY HUSSEY, Minister for Education, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 1 and 3 of the Intermediate Education (Ireland) Act, 1914, as adapted, hereby make the following rules: 1. (1) These Rules may be cited as the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1986. (2) The Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) Rules, 1926 to 1974, and these Rules shall be construed together and may be cited together as the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) Rules, 1926 to 1986. (3) These Rules shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1986. 2. (1) In these Rules "the Principal Rules" means the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) Rules, 1926 (S.R. & O., No. 17 of 1926). (2) The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Rules. 3. The Principal Rules are hereby amended by: ) the substitution in Rule 3 of "twenty" and "eighteen" for "nineteen" and "seventeen" (inserted by the Registration Council (Constitution and Procedure) (Amendment) Rules, 1974 ( S.I. No. 162 of 1974 )), respectively, and accordingly the said Rule 3 shall have effect as set out in the Table to this Rule, and ) the substitution for the schedule thereto of the Schedule to these Rules. The Council shall consist of twenty members of whom two shall be appointed by the Minister and eighteen shall be appointed by the appointing bodies in the numbers respectively set opposite the name of each such appointing body in the second column of the Schedule to these Rules. (ii) A representative on the Registration Council to be appointed by the National Council for Educational Awards. (iii) A representative on the Registration Council to be appointed by the Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools.
